Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu made a bold announcement at the World Economic Forum in Davos Switzerland about his big “Drone City” project putting Andhra Pradesh at the front of drone technology. This new project aims to use drones for many things, from building and police work to health care and farming.

Naidu had already shared a plan at the Amaravati Drone Summit to train 35,000 drone pilots and set aside 300 acres in Kurnool district for a special drone hub. He stressed that this project will not make Andhra Pradesh a leader in drone innovation but also create many job and tech growth chances.

Game-Changing Uses for Drone Technology

Naidu emphasized the versatility of drones, describing how farmers may use them to locate pests and apply insecticides just where necessary. He also discussed the role drones play in disaster relief, such as the recent floods in Vijayawada, when they delivered food and water. “Quick data from drone technology will help leaders make informed decisions,” Naidu stated.

Law enforcement patrol responsibilities will be replaced by drones, eliminating the need for a huge manpower deployment. This will allow law enforcement to concentrate on filling in when necessary, increasing public safety and productivity.

In contrast to nations that prioritize deploying drone technology for military purposes, Naidu believes it may have a positive and peaceful role. “We will employ drones to keep people safe, keep an eye out for criminal activity, and keep the peace,” he stated.

He also highlighted the potential benefits of drones in healthcare and education. Drones may, for instance, fill access gaps by transporting medical supplies and school materials to remote or inundated places.

Naidu wants Andhra Pradesh to lead the way in the use of drones in a variety of industries. He stated, “I want to create examples to make sure we are set, but India has a long way to go before drones find mainstream deployment.
