Preparations are underway in Chennai for the Ed Sheeran concert which is to take place at YMCA Grounds, Nandanam, on February 5 at 6 PM. The Chennai Traffic Police issued an advisory to ensure seamless traffic flow at the concert site, anticipating thousands of fans being present.

District Restrictions

Furthermore, there are some important instructions that have been released to help pedestrians or travelers avoid traffic jams on concert day:

1. In Respect to Auto-Rickshaws and Taxis (Vehicles With Yellow Plates): 

    • Traffic will enter YMCA Grounds through Cenotaph Road, Gandhi Mandapam Road, Chamiers Road, and Lotus Colony 2nd Street/ Nandanam Extension. 
    • From Saidapet take Nandanam Junction, turning into the first right, then perform a U-turn at Chamiers Road heading back toward Lotus Colony.

    2.  Access to VVIPs & Artists:

    • The main entrance into YMCA will be open only for VVIP passes and artists.
    • The Cosmopolitan Gate Entry on Anna Salai will also be reserved for all VVIP and artist group entries. 

    3. Using Public Transport is Encouraged:

    • They have asked attendees, to avoid chaos, to use Metro Rail and MTC buses to reach the venue with ease.
