PM Modi Highlights ‘Concert Economy’ as a Major Boost to Tourism and Job Creation

In his earlier speech, PM Modi pointed out that the concert economy has the potential to boost India’s tourism industry while simultaneously increasing employment opportunities.

During the conference, Modi brought to attention the concept of a ‘concert economy.’ It’s a term that has recently emerged as one of the pillars of the tourism sector in India and is expected to burgeon in the coming years. He put forth a very good example to demonstrate this point, the collaboration between the global music superstar Ed Sheeran and the Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh. This global attention Indian musicians are getting is an evidence of the optimism out there.

As an example of India’s unutilized potential in live music, he cited remarkable performances like the Coldplay concert that took place in Ahmedabad. The Prime Minister called for state governments and private players to spend money on event infrastructure, artist and audience management and security so that international musicians and tourists can continue to enjoy what India has to offer.

India’s Evolving Lure for Foreign Tourists & Entertainment Visitors

Apart from the already defined concert economy, PM Modi emphasized on the need for India’s tourism in other domains as well like:

Luxury Weddings: Weddings in India by foreign nationals has drastically increased which leads to the luxury boom in India, owing to its magnificent forts, beautiful landscape resorts, and rich heritage.

Spiritual & Heritage Travel: The country’s historical sites and pilgrimage spots attract millions of travelers each year, creating revenue for the local economy.

Wellness & Natural Healing: Ayurveda, yoga, and naturopathy are becoming greatly appreciated abroad, making Indians more talented in the traditional fields of medicine.

Global Branding & Prospective Expansion

PM Modi stressed the need of soft power for comprehensively improving India’s image abroad. This was further corroborated by our country being the upcoming host of the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) in the month of February.

He said, “This conference will mark a turning point in increasing India’s entertainment business and creative abilities, therefore further strengthening our position in the worldwide travel industry. “

Experts expect major economic growth and more job chances in event management, media production, hospitality, and logistics as India keeps developing its presence in emerging travel sectors. Prime Minister Modi’s vision for concert-driven tourism and emerging economic sectors opens up great potential given how important travel is for the Indian economy. The country leads a fresh tourism revolution as worldwide interest in Indian culture, music, and history rises.
