Jr NTR Bollywood Debut in War 2
As War 2 nears its major release on August 14, Telugu star Jr NTR has shared his thoughts on entering Hindi films and working with Hrithik Roshan. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the action-packed sequel also stars Kiara Advani in an important role. War 2 is expected to be one of the most significant releases of the year.
Crossing Borders: Jr NTR’s Hindi Cinema Journey
When he addressed the crowd at a pre-release event in Hyderabad on August 10, Jr NTR candidly talked about the hesitation a lot of South Indian actors feel about breaking into Bollywood.
“Har South Indian ke dimaag mein ek sawaal hai: ‘Kya yeh log yeh maanenge?’” he said.
He joked that the gap between North and South is largely bridged because of director SS Rajamouli, and thanked Hrithik Roshan for his hospitality on his first day at work.
“This is not just NTR entering Hindi cinema. Hrithik is also entering Telugu cinema,” the actor said, highlighting the cultural exchange taking place on the War 2 sets.
In more than seventy-five days of shooting, Jr NTR said he learned a lot from Hrithik.
“I often find us similar… I’m so excited to be back on the set with him,” he said.

CBFC Changes Before Theatrical Release:
Prior to its local theatrical release, War 2 was submitted to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Per reports, the CBFC asked for:
- Omission of inappropriate mentions in six instances.
- Replacement of inappropriate conversation with a toned-down version.
- Removal of a vulgar gesture lasting two seconds
- Reduction of sexual imagery by a 50% (approximately nine seconds of footage), reportedly used in Kiara Advani’s bikini scene.
Following these changes, the film was granted a U/A 16+ rating on 6 August. Total duration: 2 hours, 59 minutes and 49 seconds.

The continued film develops the YRF Spy Universe story by linking Hrithik Roshan’s Major Kabir Dhaliwal and Jr NTR’s Vikram—two Indian agents with contrasting beliefs around patriotism.
