All expenses, including the couple’s trip to Europe in 2019, were on Rajput’s initiative. “The report stated that ‘expenses related to Rhea cannot come under Section 420 IPC. There was no evidence of cheating or persuasion.’
Reasons Why the Family Refused to Accept the Closure Report
Sushant’s family and their lawyer, Advocate Varun Singh, have contested the CBI’s findings. The family believes the investigation was perfunctory and lacked transparency.
“‘This is only a cover-up,’ Singh stated. ‘If the CBI was really concerned with determining the truth, it would have made all the supporting documents – conversations, technical details, statements from witnesses, and medical files – available with the final report. None of that has been done.’
The family has indicated plans to file a protest application in the courts against the report. They are also seeking a more thorough investigation.

Advocate Singh also criticized the CBI for allegedly failing to assess important evidence including bank statements and digital data. He argued that simply asserting there was no misappropriation of funds is not adequate absent any supporting evidence.
“Saying that Sushant’s account wasn’t utilized to withdraw money is insufficient.” The agency ought to have supported this assertion with formal statements. “The report is weak and won’t hold up in a court of law,” Singh claimed.

Furthermore, the CBI’s inquiry determined that Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide. None of the suspects were in his Bandra apartment during the critical timeframe from June 8 to June 14, 2020 — the day he was discovered deceased.
Rhea and her brother Showik Chakraborty are said to have departed the home on June 8. While Sushant’s sister Meetu Singh remained with him until June 12. There was no proof indicating that Rhea or her family had any communication with the actor during this period.
