More stated that he had several communications with the HR department. This initially said that the situation regarding his salary would be fixed. However, he said that nothing has been done. This led him to take the drastic action of sleeping outside of a corporate office.

TCS Responds: References Unapproved Absence

In response to the public outrage and media coverage, TCS weighed in on the situation in a statement sent to HT.com. TCS stated that the employee’s salary had been suspended due to an unapproved absence. As stated in standard procedures regarding the company’s internal policies. “This situation is related to an employee being absent without authorization, who is not here.” Payroll has been suspended, as per standard procedure, during the time he is not here. Now that he has returned, he has asked for reinstatement.”
“A TCS spokesperson said, ‘We have offered him short-term housing and are working to help him resolve his situation in a fair and positive way.”

TCS has verified that the employee is no longer camping outside of the office. Currently TCS is working with the employee to fix the problem. The employee has been offered short-term housing and is awaiting reinstatement according to TCS’s internal HR processes.
