Expansive torrential rains prompt damaging flash floods in Uttarakhand.

In a tragic turn of events, flash floods struck the high-altitude locale of Dharali in Uttarasi, Uttarakhand on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. After several days of extensive torrential rainfall. While the cause of the natural disaster was unmatchable rainfall. It caused the Kheer Ganga river rise extremely quickly. It has taken the lives of at least four and several others were unaccounted for late on Wednesday evening. More than 190 people have been rescued after the floods commenced. Rescue operations commenced later that evening. Rescues have been ongoing since the incident. The flood-impacted area is several hours hike by foot and lacks proper road access for heavy vehicles.

CM Dhami Visits Dharali; Indian Air Force Responding via Air
