Women’s World Cup 2025 Winners: India’s triumph in the ICC Women’s ODI Cricket World Cup 2025 has reverberated excitement throughout the country. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is rewarding the champions, the Women in Blue, with ₹51 crore in cash. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed the cash prize let’s say “BCCI is offering ₹51 crore to the squad as a whole – players, coaches and support staff.” Devajit also compared this to the World Cup win by the men’s team in 1983 lead by Kapil Dev, and said just like the men’s victory created a cricketing revolution in India, this wonderful achievement by the women will start a revolution of another generation of cricketers and fans.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will share the prize money of ₹51 crore between the players, coaches, and staff, which is to be added to the ₹40 crore awarded for winning the tournament by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Though this amount is approximately half of what the winners of the Men’s T20 World Cup received last year, this is a significant investment in equality and support for women’s cricket. Top Players Excelled

In a landmark win for India, performance was led by an outstanding contribution of Shafali Verma and Deepti Sharma, the stars of the tournament.
Shafali Verma was named Player of the Match for an aggressive batting performance and an important spell with the ball, while Deepti Sharma was named Player of the Tournament, with 215 runs and 22 wickets during the tournament. Her excellent performance also included a half-century and crucial five from five wickets in the final.

Saikia has indicated the wider implications of the victory, observing that the semi-final victory over Australia was proof that women’s cricket in India had reached another level.
