Raghav Chadha Removed From Rajya Sabha Role
The position of Deputy Leader of Aam Aadmi Party in Rajya Sabha has been filled by Raghav Chadha. That’s a major change in the political structures. It is causing discussions among various political groups as well as many recent news updates and articles.
As soon as this report became public, Chadha distributed a video showing different things he did. While he was in parliament through social media. The video contained numerous videos showing him addressing some of the most relevant public issues today. E.g.,-(the large amount charged for mobile data),-the incidence of contaminated food, flight cancellations, breaches to insurance policy contracts, etc.
No official announcement of Raghav Chadha’s removal was made by him directly. This video montage may have been Chadhai’s way of subtly communicating his response to the Aam Aadmi Party’s decision.
Who will replace Chadha?
In accordance to sources, AAP has named Ashok Mittal to fill the position of Deputy Leader in Rajya Sabha replacing Chadha. This transition of power from Chadha to Mittal was made official when AAP sent a letter of appointment/notice to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat regarding Ashok Mittal’s appointment.
Sources within AAP have stated that this removal of Raghav Chadha as Deputy Leader. Also, replacement with Ashok Mittal is part of an on-going internal reorganization of AAP.
Why the Change?
The departure of Raghav Chadha comes during an extended period of absence from major party events. Reports suggest that he has also been absent from many key political events created by AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal.
Kejriwal was taken into custody in connection with a liquor policy investigation in 2024. Raghav Chadha went overseas due to health issues. Therefore, did not participate in any activities during that time. He is reported to have also been absent from recent party functions, including campaigning and ceremonial functions, following court orders that released AAP leaders from jail. These facts have given rise to speculation that Chadha is now less influential within the party.

A number of opposition leaders have commented on Chadha’s recent change in position as Deputy Leader of A.P. It has been asserted by Bharatiya Janata Party members that the new status of Mr. Chadha shows that there is an increasing divide between Mr. Chadha. The existing leadership of Mr. Arvind Kejriwal. Congress members have also indicated that they believe there may be a rift between Mr. Chadha and his party associates. This pointed out that he has not been attending many important AAP events.
