The Uttar Pradesh (UP) government has issued a crucial directive requiring all state employees to disclose their movable and immovable assets by September 30. This initiative aims to increase transparency within the government. Consequently, employees who fail to provide these details will not receive their salaries for September.

Manav Sampada Portal for Asset Disclosure

Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh released the order, mandating that all Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and Heads of Departments submit property details through the Manav Sampada Portal. Employees must ensure their disclosures are complete and submitted on time; otherwise, they will withhold salaries for non-compliance.

High Compliance Rate Among Employees

According to government sources, 90% of state employees have already submitted their asset details. Specifically, out of the total 8.44 lakh employees, approximately 7.19 lakh have complied with the directive. Initially, the deadline was set for August 31. However, after some employees requested more time, the government extended the deadline to September 30.

Salary Withheld for Non-Compliance

The UP government’s firm stance on asset disclosure reflects its commitment to enhancing governance and accountability. Therefore, employees who do not disclose their assets by the deadline will face financial consequences, as they will withhold salaries until they meet the requirements.

Increased Transparency in Governance

This move marks a significant step toward fostering transparency within the UP government. By linking asset disclosure to salaries, the administration ensures that all employees actively participate in maintaining integrity. Moreover, the Drawing and Disbursing Officer (DDO) oversees compliance and conducts timely reviews.
