The girl’s widowed mother revealed that the family fled their Greater Noida residence overnight after receiving repeated threats of rape, murder, and acid attacks. The teenager, who is preparing for her Class 10 board examinations, has stopped attending school due to fear and emotional distress.
Her mother said the family has endured relentless online and offline intimidation, questioning why a child who publicly apologised continues to face such severe abuse.

In a video message posted on Instagram, Prime Minister Narendra Modi acknowledged that some young protesters had used offensive language against him and his late mother. While describing the incident as a cultural shock, he urged people to forgive the children, stating that punishment and public harassment would not solve the problem.
