Rajasthan Independence Day 2026: Independence Day celebrations on August 15 took a wrong turn in Rajasthan. It was when both the BJP and Congress got their event dates mixed up. This lead to a political row over the violation of national symbols.
BJP’s Wrong Tune
The BJP’s Independence Day ceremony at Jaipur’s beautiful Badi Chaupad played an inaccurate version of Vande Mataram as the song sung by Lata Mangeshkar in the 1952 film Anand Math was used.
BJP Rajasthan president Madan Rathore, who hoisted the Tricolour at the event. Later regretted the error, saying that it was one of the technical errors. He explained that only the music was irrelevant while the lyrics were the same.
Meanwhile, Jaipur Municipal Corporation punished the sound company for mismanagement by withholding the payment. They called it a serious error committed by the sound agency which affected the dignity of the national festival.
In the midst of the celebrations, it was reported that BJP minority cell member Khalid Bandook suffered a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital where he is said to be recovering.
Congress Has Its Issues Too
In addition to that, an event of raising the Congress flag went wrong at Badi Chaupad. Following the organizers’ announcement of Vande Mataram, the National Anthem was played instead.
The national anthem was cut short halfway and later, state Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra and others raised Vande Matram.
Trending news today have heated up political lines regarding the Independence Day celebrations in Rajasthan.
Conflicts Have Increased in Rajasthan
Rashtriya Loktantrik Party leader and Nagaur MP Hanuman Beniwal has pointed out many other alleged shortcomings regarding the celebrations. He claimed that a reversed tricolor flag was raised in Nawalgarh by a BJP MLA and an acting sub-divisional officer.
Beniwal also accused Rajasthan minister Suresh Rawat of not saluting the flag after it was hoisted in Bharatpur.
By challenging the BJP’s claim of patriotism, Beniwal has made it clear that the manifestations of respect towards the national flag and symbols should be verified not by speeches and slogans but deeds.
The happenings have attracted a lot of attention today in the news as people are discussing whether the errors must be seen merely as technical mistakes or considered as serious breaches of protocol and national dignity.
