Wedding Expenses: The viewpoint of a content creator regarding spending ₹30 lakh on a wedding has caused a stir, leading to a conversation around the matter among the youth. This has received immense limelight in the trends as the issue has been amongst the trending news today on various platforms due to collective opinions of the masses that extravagance is justified.

₹30 Lakh Wedding Vs Economic Independence?

Creator Pranati has taken to Instagram to articulate that she thinks spending ₹30 lakh on her wedding would be the worst move ever made by her.

According to her, many people in their twenties spend a vast amount of money on an occasion which lasts for a couple of hours although the same money can help establish a stable financial future. She pointed out that ₹30 lakh could be used as a deposit for a property purchase, invested in a business, or kept in SIP.

She mentioned the importance of financial independence, which can give more freedom especially to women faced with job or life choices.

“Richness Creates Choices”

Pranati questioned why spending on a lavish wedding has become socially acceptable leaving aside the costs especial.
She suggested that parents might offer a lump sum amount at the time of birth for future use of the child. In her view, weddings are a means to celebrate while wealth serves as a tool for prosperity.

While sharing her opinion in the last part of her video, she made a note of the fact that she decided against having a “big fat wedding,” as she believed that having financial security is far more important than having a luxurious wedding.

Public Reaction

The video generated polarizing reactions online and became one of the subjects people discuss most actively today.
Many followers supported this position, insisting that weddings should be meaningful instead of expensive.
Numerous users have dumped compliments to the author for inspiring them to think of smart financial planning instead of society’s expectations. Moreover, even one of the wedding planners agreed with the author.

However, not everybody agrees with this statement. Many users said that weddings should be a unique occasion, and money spent on weddings can be essential, just like investments.
Others reasoned that couples interested in saving money might do for a small ceremony.

The Bigger Financial Discussion

The heated argument has ignited a larger conversation about how to harmonize emotional milestones and financial plans. While there is no clear solution, the conversation brings forth different perceptions of modern generations when it comes to creating wealth, investing, and achieving financial independence.

As more conversations about personal finance emerge, the question remains whether couples need to prioritize special events over long-term financial security.
