Today, on February 24, 2025, the 19th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) program will be distributed to benefit millions of farmers in India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay a visit to Bhagalpur to formally declare the funds. Therefore, this phase reaffirms the government’s commitment to aid small and marginal farmers, benefiting over 11 crore farmers so far.

What is PM Kisan Scheme?

PM-KISAN is an initiative by the Central Government giving eligible farming families ₹6,000 a year, paid in three installments of ₹2,000 directly into their bank accounts every four months. However, the farming families are limited to the husband, wife, and children.

How to check PM Kisan Beneficiary Status?

Furthermore, the procedure of checking the beneficiary status involves performing the following operations:

  1. Visit the PM Kisan official website;
  2. Click on the option “Beneficiary Status”;
  3. Enter your Aadhaar No. or Bank Account Number in the given space;
  4. Now click the option “Get Data” to know the status.

eKYC Procedure for PM Kisan

Also, farmers must complete the process of eKYC to avail of benefits. So, three different methods available are:

  1. OTP Driven eKYC through PM-Kisan Portal and Mobile Application.
  2. Biometric driven eKYC through Common Service Centres (CSCs) and State Service Centres (SSKs).
  3. Face Authentication Driven eKYC through PM Kisan Mobile Application.

Who does not qualify under PM Kisan?

Besides, the following classes of persons are not entitled to get benefit under PM-KISAN:

  • Institutional landowners
  • Past and present officeholders (such as ministers, MPs, state legislators, mayors)
  • Current and former government employees (except Group D/MTS employees)
  • People who have retired with more than ₹10,000 of pensions a month
  • Taxpayers with income from the last assessment year

How to Stop Getting Benefits Under PM-Kisan?

Farmers without eligibility shall voluntarily give up their PM-Kisan benefits on the official site:

  1. Select “Voluntary Surrender of PM-Kisan Benefits.”
  2. Type the registration number and captcha code.
  3. Get OTP sent to their Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
  4. Confirm surrender by choosing “yes” and submitting OTP.

So, with the 19th installment recent news updates, the farmers are advised to check if they are eligible and carry on with the required processes to benefit smoothly.
